MDTM Entrepreneur Daily – 9.19.16

The Entrepreneur Daily series are blog posts that I write when I am working on my side business. My goal is to write a post every day when I am in “entrepreneur mode” and actively working on my business, talking about what I’m grateful for and what I’m working on. In a perfect world, that would be every single day, but in my reality, I work on my business in spurts. I’ve accepted this as my reality for now and hope to improve going forward. This is my entrepreneur journal, to document where I am today.

What I’m Grateful For

I got nothing today…nothing. I’m struggling to find something to be grateful for today, along with being tired and struggling to be positive about anything.

I won’t say it’s because today is a Monday. I hate that excuse. We all have Mondays and Wednesdays and Saturdays to deal with. Just because everyone working a 9 to 5 job is supposed to hate Mondays doesn’t give me an excuse to join the club.

I’m tired and worn out. Simple as that. I’m in a mini-downward spiral. My body broke down a bit (pulled a muscle) and is worn out from my diet/exercise routine, which meant stalled progress and frustration, which meant vegging on TV this weekend.

On top of that, I’m feeling lonely in my entrepreneur and financial efforts. I geek out over this stuff, get fully engulfed in it, but I don’t have anyone to bounce it off of. My wife doesn’t really care that much. Well, she cares but her eyes glaze over once I start talking about this stuff. She not interested.

All of that combines for tired and worn out. I’m searching for energy and any positives I can find today. That will pull me out of the downward trend, get me going on the upward trend. If I can’t find that today, I’ll ride the wave and try to make today a neutral instead of more downward.

What I’m Working On

Once I get moving in a positive direction again, I’ll be focused on real estate. I am looking at things like…what funding do I need for rental properties, where do I find or get funding, how can I structure the funding, where do I want to invest in properties, how do I properly analyze properties, what about turnkey companies, etc, etc, etc.

I’ve got a few books that I have cracked and skimmed. I need to dig into the books and then into articles online. That’s all upcoming.

Goals For the Day

No specific goals for the day. I’m taking the pressure off today. Anything I accomplish will be gravy.

I hate not pushing myself for a goal, not pushing forward, but I need the mental break. Either I give myself a small break now or it could turn into the need for a longer break later.

Working a side gig and as an entrepreneur is not easy. You take the good with the bad. Today is one of the down days. They aren’t all sunshine and rainbows.

Back at it tomorrow, hopefully.

    • Chris, thanks so much for the comment! It means a lot to know that folks are rooting for me.

I had a rough morning and knew it would be a rough day. The one thing I can point to that still worked was my morning routine. I continued to do my morning routine (from The Miracle Morning…meditation, visualization, affirmations, etc) even though I didn’t feel like doing it. I was able to push through and at least go through the motions. That will pay off somewhere down the road.
